Introduced in the late 1970s, the first Suzuki 4×4, the LJ series, carved out its own market niche as a compact, rugged and affordable workhorse. The LJ evolved into the highly successful SJ series and Samurai models, which offered buyers a fun alternative to similarly priced hatchbacks and saloons, and bcome the first ‘lifestyle’ 4x4s on the market. When the Vitara appeared in 1989, it proved massively popular as an insurance-friendly alternative to a ‘hot-hatch’, and since then the Suzuki off-roader brand has gone from strength to strength. This all-colour book will fascinate all Suzuki 4×4 owners and enthusiasts.
Hardback, 270 x 210mm, 160 pages, 160 colour illustrations

Does NOT cover V6 engines
Reviewer: A S Clarke from Britain
Problem is, this book deals with early Japanese Built SJ413 models, with an addendum (incomplete) of some SJ410 models. These vehicles have been built in Japan, India, Spain and a myriad of other countries. The Vitara section deals only with early models, 8v Carb’d, there are Canadian, Japanese and Spanish built models with a host of different variations before you even get into 8V, 16v etc changes. Good perhaps to have a basic reference book, but even with the UK addendums it is pitifully inadequate for the serious Suzuki/Maruti/ZUK fan.
